Replacing your EZ-Start Gear Set
If your EZ-Start motor is spinning but the engine is not turning you may have stripped one of the gears in your EZ-Start gear box. Remove the old gears and thoroughly clean the gear box to remove any broken gear teeth. Install the new gear set using a light coating of silicone grease (part# 1647) on the teeth of the gears.
The replacement gears set for the EZ-Start 2 (TRX 2.5, 2.5R and 3.3) is part number 5276.
The EZ-Start gear set for the EZ-Start (Pro .15) is part number 4576.
