Differential Removal Instructions
For
E-Revo, E-Revo Brushless Edition and Summit
NOTE: A Traxxas Summit is shown in these photos. If you are working on an E-Revo, disregard references to the Summit\'s diff-locking system.

Differential Removal
Front
1. Disconnect the front bumper lights connector (Summit only), and then remove the 4x12mm button head screw from the body mount. Pull the body mount from the chassis.
2. (Summit only) Disconnect the diff locker arm by removing the 2x12mm cap head screw, and then pull the linkage up and out of the way.
3. Remove the front shocks from the chassis to access the four 4x14mm button head screws underneath that secures the bulkhead to the chassis. Remove these four screws.
4. Flip the chassis over to access the steering servo linkages. Disconnect the steering linkages from the steering bell crank by removing the two 3x15mm button head screws, and then pull the front end assembly from the chassis.
5. Disconnect the pushrods from the rocker arms by removing the two 3x15mm button head screws, and then swing the rocker arms back to access the output shaft slots molded into the bulkhead.
6. Disconnect the drive shafts from the differential by removing the two 15mm screw pins.
7. (Summit only) Next, pull the upper suspension pin located above the diff lock side of the bulkhead out far enough to make clearance for the diff output shaft to slide through the slot molded in the bulkhead.
8. Align the diff output shafts to slide up and out of the bulkhead. The shafts should slide through the slots molded in the bulkhead. Once the shafts are keyed into the slots, the diff should pull up and out of the bulkhead easily.
NOTE: Reassembly of the front end is performed in the reverse order of these instructions. Make sure to key in the front drive shaft halves properly when attaching the font end to the chassis. Tip: Remove the front center drive shaft half from the transmission, and then connect the two shaft halves together on the front end first before attaching the front end to the chassis.
Rear
9. Disconnect the rear bumper light connector (Summit only), and then remove the three 4x14mm button head screws that secure the rear body mount to the chassis. Pull the rear body mount from the chassis.
10. Remove the rear shocks from the chassis, and then disconnect the rear diff lock arm from the differential by removing the 2x12mm cap head screw. Pull the linkage up and out o the way.
11. Flip the chassis over to access the two 4x10mm button head screws that secure the center skid plate to the rear bulkhead. Remove these two screws.
12. Next, remove the 3x6mm screw that secures the center drive shaft access hatch to the center skid plate. Remove the hatch door to access the rear center output shaft of the transmission, and then disconnect the rear center drive shaft from the transmission. The entire rear assembly can now be pulled away from the chassis. Note that the rear center drive shaft should come out along with the assembly.
13. Disconnect the pushrods from the rocker arms by removing the two 3x15mm button head screws, and then swing the rocker arms back to access the output shaft slots molded into the bulkhead.
14. Disconnect the drive shafts from the differential by removing the two 15mm screw pins.
15. Pull the upper suspension pin (Summit only) located above the diff lock side of the bulkhead out far enough to make clearance for the diff output shaft to slide through the slot molded in the bulkhead. Next, align the diff output shafts to slide up and out of the bulkhead. The shafts should slide through the slots molded in the bulkhead. Once the shafts are keyed into the slots, the diff should pull up and out of the bulkhead easily.
NOTE: Reassembly of the rear end is performed in the reverse order of these instructions.
