Take Your MERV to the Extreme!
When it comes to mini-models, there’s no machine more capable or fully-featured than the 1/16 E-Revo. Available with Titan 550 brushed power and in VXL trim with the Velineon Brushless Power System on board, this high-tech rig isn’t just an E-Revo in name; it’s built just like the 1/10 scale truck, complete with monocoque chassis, waterproof electronics, inboard GTR shocks, full ball bearings, and pivot-ball suspension. And like the “big” E-Revo, the 1/16 model is fully tunable and upgradeable with genuine Traxxas accessories for even greater speed, power, performance adjustability, and fun.

Drivetrain
The 1/16 E-Revo’s drivetrain is deluxe right out of the box, with a full set of front, center, and rear telescoping universal-joint driveshafts. But if you want the ultimate, you can upgrade to Steel Constant Velocity Driveshafts. These resist binding under load, so you get maximum suspension suppleness under acceleration, and heavy-duty steel construction means higher power-handling capability—a plus if you’re running dual NiMH batteries or a 3-cell LiPo in high-traction conditions.
The steel CV driveshafts are considerably slimmer than the plastic shafts, and fully rebuildable.
The center shaft can also be upgraded with a steel CV version.
Aluminum Hex Hubs
While these do look pretty sweet with their blue-anodized finish, the optional aluminum wheel hexes are hidden once the wheels are installed. The real benefit is strength, not style. The metal hexes are stronger to resist stripping under high load. If you’re into maximum-voltage street running, metal hexes are a smart upgrade. And they’re a perfect complement to the steel CV driveshafts.
Suspension
Feel free to add these red-hot links to your ride just because they look awesome, but they do improve performance, durability, and convenience too. The pushrods and toe links are each tubular 6061 aluminum, so they’re light and stiff, which allows the suspension action to be more efficient and consistent. The threaded ends are steel inserts for strength, and the toe links are turnbuckles, so you can fine-tune front and rear toe settings. Traxxas even supplies a premium wrench.
GTR Hard-Anodized Aluminum Shocks
These machined-aluminum, hard-anodized shocks offer the absolute lowest possible friction and most consistent damping by virtue of their slick, PTFE-coated bores and Titanium Nitride (TiN) coated shock shafts (it’s the TiN that gives the shafts their gold color). The E-Revo’s stock plastic GTR shocks work great; the advantage of going to the aluminum GTRs is even smoother damping feel and consistency, with longer seal life.
Threaded Aluminum Pivot-Ball Caps
The E-Revo uses snap-in plastic caps to retain the pivot balls in the axle carriers. With use and wear, play can develop between caps and pivot balls. By installing the optional aluminum caps, you can adjust precisely the caps for zero play with no binding. The caps’ hard, slick PTFE coating assures super-smooth action and long wear, and installation is easy—pop out the stock caps and thread-in the upgrade caps. The required 5 mm wrench is included.
Waterproof Velineon® VXL-3m Brushless Power System
If you’ve got a 1/16 E-Revo VXL, your truck already has the Velineon system onboard. If you’ve got a Titan-powered E-Revo, going brushless is the most significant upgrade you can make (and you can do it with a trade-in discount—check out the Power-Up Program). We’re talking an instant speed boost to 30+mph on a single NiMH battery, or 50+mph when run two batteries in series. Speed isn’t the only benefit; you also get far greater motor life, since there are no brushes to wear out. Heat robs efficiency and torque, so our E-Revo is also equipped with the optional finned heatsink. An ample tube of thermal paste is included for maximum heat transfer. If dual-battery speed runs are in your future, the heat sink is a smart addition.
Metal-Gear Servo
Upgrading to a high-output brushless system and grippier tires (we’ll get to those) puts a greater strain on the steering servo, so upgrading to a metal-gear servo is a smart move. The 2080R servo has the same specs as the stock tire-turner, but substitutes metal gears for plastic for greater durability.
Body, Wheels & Tires
The Response Pro’s soft compound and mini-pin tread deliver maximum grip on hard-packed surfaces, and are also great on concrete. The 2.2 wheel and lower-profile tire also deflect less than the stock wheel and tire combo when subjected to cornering forces, which tightens up handling. And the Response Pro setup is lighter, too; each wheel and tire weighs 60g, versus 65g for the stock rubber. That saves nearly one ounce of rotating weight, which helps the E-Revo accelerate even faster. For maximum security (and a little extra style), we mounted the wheels using blue-anodized nuts with machined serrations. The serrated nuts are offered in four colors and they’re practically loose-proof.
4-Position Wheelie Bar
Brushless power and more traction? That’s a recipe for wheelies, so the optional 4-position wheelie bar is a must-have. Set it low for drag-style launches, high for eye-popping wheel stands, or in between—just pop it into the position you prefer. The wheelie bar installs with just four screws, and is a must when you go brushless. Installation time: about a minute.
Exo-Carbon Wing
This one’s strictly for style—nothing wrong with that! The Exo-carbon finish looks like woven carbon fiber, with a high gloss that really brings out the pattern. Side-dam decals and Traxxas logos are included.
Ready to Rip!
Brushless power is definitely the mod that matters most, and all the other upgrades help make the E-Revo even better suited to the extra horsepower. All are easy to install, and you can add them at your own pace (but it sure is fun to install them all at once). Let’s see your 1/16 E-Revos—post them up on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and be sure to tag Traxxas.
